Off-Leash With Brooke Frischer & Freddie

Welcome to Off-Leash, a series spotlighting Biche’s community of tastemaking dogs and humans.

It started with a casual scroll through Instagram. Writer and editor Brooke Frischer was tapping through Stories when she came across a post by fashion designer Rachel Antonoff with an irresistible call to action: a local animal rescue needed fosters.

Brooke leaped into action and welcomed Freddie, a three-year-old Australian Shepherd and Border Collie mix, into her home. Quickly, she realized her role as temporary dog mom was bound to turn permanent.

"As a lifelong pet owner and animal lover, I’m not sure why I thought I’d be able to control myself and not adopt my foster,” Brooke says. “Long story short, Fred is the ultimate foster fail. He knows exactly when I need a cuddle, when I need to be pulled off the couch to 'touch grass,' and when I need a little extra love. In short, he’s an incredibly special and wonderful boy who I am beyond grateful for."
