Brynn Wallner isn’t just fashion's resident watch expert — she’s also a dog aficionado. The founder of Dimepiece, a platform for watch-loving women, Brynn once boasted a side hustle as a pet portraitist, creating custom paintings of people’s dogs, cats, and even chickens (see: @brynnpaints for her portfolio).
Though Brynn's animal-inspired art has taken a backseat to her work at Dimepiece and her creative consulting projects, she’s still an animal lover through and through. The apple of Brynn’s eye is her 12-year-old Chihuahua mix, Honey, who came into her life when she was 24 and living in Los Angeles. "My apartment didn’t allow dogs, but I needed one in my life," Brynn says. "I found Honey on Craigslist. We met at a Starbucks in the Valley. I paid $60 for her. Best money I’ve ever spent.”
Since then, Brynn and Honey have gone on to star in the campaign for J.Crew’s collaboration with Westminster Kennel Club, a project that married Brynn’s love of animals and her fashion chops.
In the wind-down from New York Fashion Week, we spoke with the creative about everything but watches, including her perfume-related pet peeve and Honey's weirdest habit.
