Lulu Graham might be a sartorialist, but you won’t catch her dog getting dressed.

The founder of creative communications studio Great Short Fiction, Lulu also runs the Substack Outfit Dissecting, where she interviews stylish people about their most-loved clothes.

Lulu has long been fascinated by fashion and personal style — she started Outfit Dissecting as a high schooler — but she’s relatively new to the joys of having a dog. A year and a half ago, she got her very first, a Welsh Terrier named Jane who loves squeaky toys and hates wearing a jacket.

"I’m sort of glad I didn’t grow up with a dog because it allowed me to discover that I’m a dog lady — like, the kind that doesn’t go anywhere without her dog,” Lulu says. "It’s true what people say; [dogs] really do challenge you and force you to grow.”

Ahead, we chat with Lulu about her appreciation for good manners and Jane’s aversion to wearing clothes.
