There’s nothing stronger than the bond between a girl and her girl dog, goes the TikTok adage. So when Madeline Sensibile-Yazzetta drove from Los Angeles to the Mojave Desert to look at a litter of Wire Fox Terriers, she was set on bringing home a little girl.

Madeline and her husband were immediately drawn to one particular puppy. “My heart told me to go with the one with all the spots,” she says. “That is now our beloved Smooch.”

Now one-and-a-half years old, Smooch is thriving under the care of her dog-obsessed mom. Madeline is a self-described “online gal” — she’s a former teen fashion blogger and now works as a social media director — whose passions include fashion, music, history, and, well, dogs. “I will rattle off breeds like a Westminster judge,” she says, adding that her dream is to live in England with several terriers.

With Smooch by her side, Madeline is about halfway there. Ahead, we chat with the dog mom about her and her daughter's favorite things, current obsessions, and inexplicable quirks.
