Off-Leash With Meg Zukin & Bowser

From Los Angeles to New York City to San Francisco, Meg Zukin and Bowser get around. Over the course of Meg’s writing career, she’s moved from coast to coast and landed positions at the likes of Variety and TIME magazine. And Bowser, her eight-year-old Shih Tzu mix, has been there for it all. 

"Our story starts in Los Angeles,” Meg says of her and Bowser’s beginnings. "I was getting antsy during the pandemic and a former coworker told me about Lhasa Happy Homes, a rescue that specializes in small, cute dogs — perfect for me. On April 3, 2020, my now-fiancé and I took Bowser home. In the past five years, Bowser has lived in three cities, two states, and five apartments. He’s driven across the country with us, twice, and has flown across even more. He is a munchkin, a piglet, and a cranky old man."

Now based in San Francisco, Meg is settling into her new role at Apple and preparing for her wedding in October, another adventure that Bowser will be a part of. “He loves running the show," Meg adds. “He’s not our dog, we’re his humans.”
