Welcome to Off-Leash, a new series spotlighting Biche’s community of tastemaking dogs and their owners. We’re kicking things off with Heather Hurst, stylist and writer, and Ziggy AKA Pig, a rescue mutt who loves cheese and hates Jon Hamm.

If the name Heather Hurst doesn’t ring a bell, you definitely recognize her username: @pigg.jpeg on Instagram and @pigmami on TikTok. A stylist and writer, Heather is also the mind behind the popular Substack PIGPEN, where she publishes musings on fashion and interiors.

So what’s with Heather’s obsession with pigs? She has one — more precisely, she has a dog named Pig.

“I met Pig at a rescue event for Yorkie 911 in January 2020,” Heather says. Her aunt had adopted Pig’s mom a few months earlier, and Pig — a Shih-Tzu-Maltese-Yorkie mix — was the only one from her litter that still hadn’t been rescued. “I took her home that same evening.”

Pig, now five years old, has become a beloved fixture in Heather’s content. Ahead, the dynamic duo tells us more about themselves, from their favorite smells to their favorite snacks.
